Harriers promotes running as a fun, group-oriented activity that is a great way to stay healthy. "Fun Run Meets" will be scheduled with surrounding communities. Practices will run Mondays, with meets held each successive Wednesday. A league-wide championship meet will be held on June 1st. Practices will be canceled in the event of rain. Morse Street School students may ride their usual bus to Mast Landing School. Bus transportation will be provided TO meet locations ONLY. Parents MUST pick up runner from meets. Running shoes or sneakers are required, as is attire appropriate for the weather. Practices will be canceled in the even of rain.  Parent Volunteers Needed: In order to provide adequate programming for our youth, we need the help of parent volunteers. Please help us continue our tradition of offering this quality program by volunteering to help.

  The Maine High School Rugby Association (MHSRA) has transformed, and combined powers with programs in other New England states to compete under the umbrella of the New Hampshire-Maine Youth Rugby Union (NHMYRU). More information about this group can be found at here: NHMYRU HomepageIn partnership with the Portland Rugby Football Club, USA Rugby, and the New England Free Jacks, the MHSRA & NHMYRU is bringing rugby to Maine! The boys division will have five teams in ME, based out of these communities: Berwick, Freeport, Portland, Presque Isle and Waterville. The girls division will form a super-regional team that will compete against other high school clubs from New England. Both groups will practice* at Freeport High School on week days (Sundays indoors until the weather allows outdoor practices), and compete in weekend tournaments. The 'Spring Sevens' 7v7 tournaments will align with the spring MPA sports season, running from March through June. A full calendar can be found here, and you can expect updates to come directly from the league managers and team coaches.*Note: The team will practice outside at Freeport High School on the JBS Turf whenever possible; the Morse Street School Gym is reserved throughout the season in case practices need to be moved indoors.Registration for this program will be done directly through the NHMYRU Website. Do you have an old band instrument lying around in your attic? Did you play a musical instrument as a kid and have always wanted to pick it back up? If you have an orchestral instrument: flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, violin, viola or cello, double bass, and have prior musical experience (even from decades ago) on your instrument, this is a wonderful way to revisit and rekindle your musical skills. This eight-week course will get you back into the swing of music making. All musicians will receive simple sheet music to play through. Together as an ensemble we will practice, make mistakes, and explore concepts such as tuning, tone, technique, balance, rhythm, and dynamics.

There is no more to learn from basketball than just basketball itself. With an encouraging and supportive atmosphere, players will be introduced to basic skills, concepts, and fundamentals through fun and effective drills and games. Learning from older players gives an inside view at what you have to look forward to in future years as a Falcon.Please note that Friday is a half day program for both camps.

8:30 AM - 4:30 PM    Teen Treks - Week 1
Fun and adventure are guaranteed in this on-the-go camp for teens. These trips provide an excellent opportunity for teens to get outdoors and enjoy all the wonderful things Maine has to offer in the summer. Each week includes adventurous trips and activities suited for any teen looking to have a memorable summer!Participants must bring a snack, lunch, water bottle, rain gear, shoes that can get wet AND boots or sneakers for hiking, bathing suit, towel, and sunscreen to camp each day. On days that do not have featured trips, we will be visiting state parks and beaches. A schedule of events will be posted when available.This year we will offer three Teen Treks Extreme Weeks that include overnight camping. Extreme activities may include canoeing and moose watching near Moosehead Lake, adventure parks, ropes course sessions, and whitewater rafting on the Kennebec River. Final schedule will be available the first week of February. (Our current plan is to do Moose Watch Canoeing and stay at Moosehead Lake for Week 3x, Something new on Week 5x and Whitewater Rafting an Week 7x, but we cannot make the final call until state park camping registration opens.)Campers may be dropped off at FHS as early as 8:30 a.m., and must be picked up no later than 4:30 p.m. Overnight trips (during weeks 3x, 5x, and 7x) will depart at 8:00 a.m. and return as close to 4:30 p.m. as possible the following day. More information will be sent to participants in regard to the overnight trips. Camp Fees Camp fees include all field trips and special events. A non-refundable deposit of 20% of your total camp fees is due when your child’s registration is confirmed, with an additional 20% of the total cost automatically charged by the last day of the months of February, March, April and May. Full payment is due before your child is scheduled to attend. Scholarship applications are always welcome.

Unleash Your Inner Athlete at Falcon Fusion!This summer, discover the joy of Freeport Family Track and Field! Whether you're a seasoned track star or brand new, our welcoming environment is designed to nurture your love for the sport. Experience sprints, middle distance, long distance, race walk, javelin, shot-put, discus, high jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, and relay races. With so many events to choose from, there is something for everyone.Here's what the program offers:- Casual and Active: Everyone has other summer commitments and schedules. All practices and meets are optional. However, you get the most work and improvement from regular and active participation. We make every session enjoyable and filled with skill development. We help foster a love for the sport that lasts a lifetime.- Skill development: Our experienced coaches and junior coaches from High School work with all athletes, honing personal fitness, individual event skills, and team sportsmanship.- Inclusive atmosphere: All skill levels are welcome. Top performers at meets get ribbons.  Additional Details:- Show your team spirit with a free uniform top!- Practice sessions are held Mondays & Tuesdays from 5:00 - 6:30 PM from mid-June to early August right on the FHS Track and Turf Field.- Register for just $100 for 16 practices.- All ages are welcome to register and practice with us. The main program competition age groups are "8 & Under", "9 & 10", "11 & 12", "13 & 14+" (The oldest competitors will have just finished 8th grade). To participate in optional competition events, a separate USATF membership (approximately $35) is required.
