The College Search: A Guide for Families
For many families, there’s nothing that produces more anxiety than the period of time that their high school student begins searching for colleges and applying for financial aid. Even for those who have been through the process, there are so many questions to be answered and revelations that seem to be frustratingly hidden.

Sound familiar? RSU5 Community Programs is here to help! Join us in February for a three-part series The College Search: A Guide for Families. The program is led by Kristen Stevens, the Maine College and Career Access Coordinator for Cumberland County schools. With her 20-plus years in education and social work, Kristen has a wealth of knowledge and experience to help families chart a course for their college search, avoid pitfalls in the process, and reduce the confusion and anxiety that is too common for those discovering what’s next after Freeport High School. This class is aimed at parents/guardians, but we strongly encourage students to take part.

In this is a three-part series, and each session will have a different topical focus:
1) Getting Organized & Mapping Out a Plan
2) Finding the Right Fit
3) Navigating Financial Aid

Classes will be presented to a small in-person audience, but live-streamed to any/all interested participants (you'll be able to indicate your preference at registration). Questions for our instructors may be submitted ahead of each class, and class materials will be distributed prior to the first session. We look forward to seeing you!

* Adjustments and discounts will be applied during checkout if applicable. *
