This summer Mad Science of Maine is hosting FOUR new week-long programs:

Reactions in Action (Freeport): An introduction to chemistry, a vital science, important to our daily lives! Learn its role behind the scenes in many everyday and no-so everyday phenomena! Campers will become lab scientists-in-training as they learn various laboratory techniques! Learn to manipulate an assortment of lab equipment in a series of safe, hands-on activities.

MAKERS of the Future (Freeport): Explore mechanical wonders in this camp, which is chock full of creative learning and inventing exciting creations! Snap together electronic modules to build a truck crane or bubble flute. Use our gear collection to motorize and make your own designs move. Creatively engineer with zoob tubes as you design different creations to solve and overcome a series of STEM challenges.

Junior Engineers Lab (Freeport and Pownal): Put on your hard hat for this exciting week of Engineering Science! We will span the fields of Aerospace, Electrical, Structural & Mechanical Engineering. Explore the role that wind and the movement of air plays on simple flying devices, delve into Newton’s Laws of Motion, create and test self-supporting structures and use your construction skills by assembling and controlling fun machines like pulleys, levers, hydraulic lifts, and robots! Put your skills to the test by building balloon racer cars, hovercrafts, cube puzzles, a hand crank flag waver, suspension bridges, rockets, and other mechanical devices. Come join us to learn how engineering helps us understand the way the world works!
