Fun and adventure are guaranteed in this on-the-go camp for teens. These trips provide an excellent opportunity for teens to get outdoors and enjoy all the wonderful things Maine has to offer in the summer. Each week includes adventurous trips and activities suited for any teen looking to have a memorable summer!
Participants must bring a snack, lunch, water bottle, rain gear, shoes that can get wet AND boots or sneakers for hiking, bathing suit, towel, and sunscreen to camp each day. On days that do not have featured trips, we will be visiting state parks and beaches. A schedule of events will be posted when available.
This year we will offer three Teen Treks Extreme Weeks that include overnight camping. Extreme activities may include canoeing and moose watching near Moosehead Lake, adventure parks, ropes course sessions, and whitewater rafting on the Kennebec River. Final schedule will be available the first week of February. (Our current plan is to do Moose Watch Canoeing and stay at Moosehead Lake for Week 3x, Something new on Week 5x and Whitewater Rafting an Week 7x, but we cannot make the final call until state park camping registration opens.)
Campers may be dropped off at FHS as early as 8:30 a.m., and must be picked up no later than 4:30 p.m. Overnight trips (during weeks 3x, 5x, and 7x) will depart at 8:00 a.m. and return as close to 4:30 p.m. as possible the following day. More information will be sent to participants in regard to the overnight trips.
