Current Programs:March 2026 Middle School Boys Clinics - This clinic series is open to any Middle School student (6-8th grade) interested in playing in the boys basketball division. FHS Basketball Coaches Tyler Tracy and Zach Grant will teach players and practice the basic skills and strategy of the sport via fun drills, games and competitions. Register below to join! NO DROP INS ALLOWED. Spring/Summer 2026 Youth Open Gym (Jan 11 - Aug 9) - These open gyms will be run by a core group of volunteers involved with our basketball programming. Sessions will take place on Sundays at DCS, and they are open to any player from RSU5 towns in grades K-8. Activities will vary by session, and dependent on the number of players of each age group and their gender. Expect instructional drills, fun games and occasional scrimmages. March 9th, 2025 - Come join us for this fundraiser clinic, where kids will practice the fundamentals of the sport in a fun and interactive environment. All proceeds will be donated to the National CMV Foundation. We will have many coaches involved, including players from the FHS Boys and Girls Basketball teams and coaches from RSU5's Rec Basketball program. The clinic will consist of drills and activities teaching skills and strategy, as well as fun games to bring an element of competition. All players welcome, regardless of skill level or previous experience. At the end of the clinic, each player is welcome to join a pizza party sponsored by Pat's Pizza. Youth Ultimate Frisbee - High School Spring League: Practice
HIGH SCHOOL SPRING LEAGUEJoin the Freeport Ultimate program* and compete against other schools in this ultimate frisbee league! High school teams will practice at Hunter Road Field in the 3-6pm time frame (exact schedule TBD). These sessions will consist of co-ed drills and scrimmages, as well as single-gender play so that players may learn how to play under both rule sets. Teams will have the option to split into separate gender divisions (Open or Girl-Matching) for games, and also may play in the Mixed Division for additional games if desired. Game days will take place on Tuesdays, with backup days (weather, other rescheduling) on Wednesdays and Thursdays. All teams have the option to attend single-day tournaments throughout the season, for an additional fee.Please note that participation in the High School Division also requires either a Rec Affiliate Membership (additional $20 cost) or a Youth Membership with USA Ultimate (additional $45 cost).*This program registration open to players from Freeport, Durham, Pownal, ME Coast Waldorf School, GorhamWainwright Field Map (for HS Spring League Games):MIDDLE SCHOOL SPRING LEAGUEThe middle school season will consist of two practices per week, with an emphasis on learning basic fundamentals, rules and strategy of the game. Youth Lacrosse - 5/6 Boys Emphasis will be on individual skill development with an introduction to game concepts in this youth lacrosse program. All players are welcome and will be placed on gender and age appropriate teams (grades 3/4 together and grades 5/6 together). Teams will be created with equally balanced skill levels. The season begins once we are able to get outside (on FHS Turf), and concludes in mid-June. Equipment needed: boys need shoulder pads (compliant with current NOCSAE standards), arm pads, helmet, gloves, mouth piece, and stick. Girls need a mouth guard, eye guard, and stick.Exact start dates and weekly practice days will be posted below as the season approaches. All practices will take place on Monday-Thursday at Pownal Road Field, and will begin as soon as fields are dry/open (typically the week after April Break). Games will be in Freeport and nearby towns on Saturdays or Sundays - the first game weekend will be May 2nd-3rd, with the final game weekend on June 14-15th (Memorial Day Weekend OFF). The boys division will have five teams in ME, based out of these communities: Berwick, Freeport, Portland, Presque Isle and Waterville. The girls division will form a super-regional team that will compete against other high school clubs from New England. Both groups will practice* at Freeport High School on week days (Sundays indoors until the weather allows outdoor practices), and compete in weekend tournaments. The 'Spring Sevens' 7v7 tournaments will align with the spring MPA sports season, running from March through June. Youth Ultimate Frisbee - High School Spring League: Practice
HIGH SCHOOL SPRING LEAGUEJoin the Freeport Ultimate program* and compete against other schools in this ultimate frisbee league! High school teams will practice at Hunter Road Field in the 3-6pm time frame (exact schedule TBD). These sessions will consist of co-ed drills and scrimmages, as well as single-gender play so that players may learn how to play under both rule sets. Teams will have the option to split into separate gender divisions (Open or Girl-Matching) for games, and also may play in the Mixed Division for additional games if desired. Game days will take place on Tuesdays, with backup days (weather, other rescheduling) on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Making Music Again - Music - Spring Do you have an old band instrument lying around in your attic? Did you play a musical instrument as a kid and have always wanted to pick it back up? If you have an orchestral instrument: flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, violin, viola or cello, double bass, and have prior musical experience (even from decades ago) on your instrument, this is a wonderful way to revisit and rekindle your musical skills. This eight-week course will get you back into the swing of music making. All musicians will receive simple sheet music to play through. Together as an ensemble we will practice, make mistakes, and explore concepts such as tuning, tone, technique, balance, rhythm, and dynamics.

Youth Ultimate Frisbee - High School Spring League: Practice
HIGH SCHOOL SPRING LEAGUEJoin the Freeport Ultimate program* and compete against other schools in this ultimate frisbee league! High school teams will practice at Hunter Road Field in the 3-6pm time frame (exact schedule TBD). These sessions will consist of co-ed drills and scrimmages, as well as single-gender play so that players may learn how to play under both rule sets. Teams will have the option to split into separate gender divisions (Open or Girl-Matching) for games, and also may play in the Mixed Division for additional games if desired. Game days will take place on Tuesdays, with backup days (weather, other rescheduling) on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Join our after-school class, a hands-on chemistry and physics enrichment program designed to help students understand how materials behave and change. Each week, children explore states of matter, chemical reactions, elasticity, viscosity, and magnetism through guided experiments and structured investigations.Students will create and test different compounds (such as stress ball, elephant toothpaste, glow-in-the-dark and magnetic slime) while practicing scientific concept of trial and error. These activities support focus, confidence, and sensory regulation. Class is led by a highly educated instructor and emphasizes real science concepts presented in a fun, engaging age appropriate way.Science Masters Session II (Spring):
Join our after-school class, where children explore technology and engineering through engaging, hands-on learning. Each week, students investigate how science shapes the world around them—from how video games are created and what pixels are, to how temperature, forces, and motion affect materials and movement. Students will build speed ramp, experiment with heating and cooling using ice and test magnetic forces using Minecraft blocks. Each week, children explore states of matter, chemical reactions, elasticity, viscosity, and magnetism through guided experiments and structured investigations.Students will create and test different compounds (such as stress ball, elephant toothpaste, glow-in-the-dark and magnetic slime) while practicing scientific concept of trial and error. These activities support focus, confidence, and sensory regulation. Class is led by a highly educated instructor and emphasizes real science concepts presented in a fun, engaging age appropriate way.Science Masters Session II (Spring):

Each week, students investigate how science shapes the world around them—from how video games are created and what pixels are, to how temperature, forces, and motion affect materials and movement. These activities support focus, confidence, and sensory regulation.The class is led by a highly educated instructor and is designed to present rigorous science in an engaging, age-appropriate way that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning.

The girls division will form a super-regional team that will compete against other high school clubs from New England. Youth Ultimate Frisbee - High School Spring League: Practice
HIGH SCHOOL SPRING LEAGUEJoin the Freeport Ultimate program* and compete against other schools in this ultimate frisbee league! High school teams will practice at Hunter Road Field in the 3-6pm time frame (exact schedule TBD). These sessions will consist of co-ed drills and scrimmages, as well as single-gender play so that players may learn how to play under both rule sets. Teams will have the option to split into separate gender divisions (Open or Girl-Matching) for games, and also may play in the Mixed Division for additional games if desired. Game days will take place on Tuesdays, with backup days (weather, other rescheduling) on Wednesdays and Thursdays. All teams have the option to attend single-day tournaments throughout the season, for an additional fee.Please note that participation in the High School Division also requires either a Rec Affiliate Membership (additional $20 cost) or a Youth Membership with USA Ultimate (additional $45 cost).*This program registration open to players from Freeport, Durham, Pownal, ME Coast Waldorf School, GorhamWainwright Field Map (for HS Spring League Games):MIDDLE SCHOOL SPRING LEAGUEThe middle school season will consist of two practices per week, with an emphasis on learning basic fundamentals, rules and strategy of the game. Youth Lacrosse - 3/4 Boys: Practice Emphasis will be on individual skill development with an introduction to game concepts in this youth lacrosse program. All players are welcome and will be placed on gender and age appropriate teams (grades 3/4 together and grades 5/6 together). Teams will be created with equally balanced skill levels. The season begins once we are able to get outside (on FHS Turf), and concludes in mid-June. Equipment needed: boys need shoulder pads (compliant with current NOCSAE standards), arm pads, helmet, gloves, mouth piece, and stick. Girls need a mouth guard, eye guard, and stick.Exact start dates and weekly practice days will be posted below as the season approaches. All practices will take place on Monday-Thursday at Pownal Road Field, and will begin as soon as fields are dry/open (typically the week after April Break). Games will be in Freeport and nearby towns on Saturdays or Sundays - the first game weekend will be May 2nd-3rd, with the final game weekend on June 14-15th (Memorial Day Weekend OFF). Making Music Again - Music - Spring Do you have an old band instrument lying around in your attic? Did you play a musical instrument as a kid and have always wanted to pick it back up? If you have an orchestral instrument: flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, violin, viola or cello, double bass, and have prior musical experience (even from decades ago) on your instrument, this is a wonderful way to revisit and rekindle your musical skills. This eight-week course will get you back into the swing of music making. All musicians will receive simple sheet music to play through. Together as an ensemble we will practice, make mistakes, and explore concepts such as tuning, tone, technique, balance, rhythm, and dynamics.

Spring Season (updated 3/17/26):The Maine High School Rugby Association (MHSRA) has transformed, and combined powers with programs in other New England states to compete under the umbrella of the New Hampshire-Maine Youth Rugby Union (NHMYRU). More information about this group can be found at here: NHMYRU HomepageIn partnership with the Portland Rugby Football Club, USA Rugby, and the New England Free Jacks, the MHSRA & NHMYRU is bringing rugby to Maine! The boys division will have five teams in ME, based out of these communities: Berwick, Freeport, Portland, Presque Isle and Waterville. The girls division will form a super-regional team that will compete against other high school clubs from New England. Both groups will practice* at Freeport High School on week days (Sundays indoors until the weather allows outdoor practices), and compete in weekend tournaments. The 'Spring Sevens' 7v7 tournaments will align with the spring MPA sports season, running from March through June. You can expect schedule updates to come directly from the league managers and team coaches.*Note: The team will practice outside at Freeport High School on the JBS Turf whenever possible; the Morse Street School Gym is reserved throughout the season in case practices need to be moved indoors.The practice schedule is listed below (click "view times"), but registration for this program must be done directly through the NHMYRU Website. The clinic will consist of drills and activities teaching skills and strategy, as well as fun games to bring an element of competition.
