RSU5 Community Programs - Affirmation of Inclusion

RSU5 Community Programs (RSU5CP) is a community-based agency which offers athletics and other activities to children and adults through its Recreation division. Within our programming, we often designate divisions to align with the state or national governing bodies for each specific program. As such, we use the language and verbiage favored by those organizations.

As it pertains to athletics and recreation, RSU5CP defaults to the gender binary when labeling leagues or events – men’s/boys’, women’s/girls’, and mixed-gender or undesignated as appropriate. We recognize that not all individuals’ gender identities are included in this binary.

Within our divisions as they exist for any program, RSU5 Community Programs will not discriminate on the basis of gender identity, regardless of sex assigned at birth, or any other form of gender expression for participation in any sport or activity. We affirm that people of all gender identities should have the freedom to participate in any RSU5CP sponsored leagues, divisions, or events in which they feel the most comfortable and safe. Furthermore, RSU5CP encourages understanding, appreciation, and acceptance of all members of our community. Participants shall be recognized, respected, and included in all of our programming regardless of their gender identity or any other expression of Self.

Privacy Statement

All discussions of personal identity by an RSU5CP registrant, coach, volunteer, or staff member shall be kept confidential unless otherwise requested by the individual.
