Join us on Sundays from 10am-12pm for these Mixed Ultimate Sessions! This year we will split players into Middle School (6-8th grade) and High School (9-12th grade) groups when numbers allow.All practices will be led by the Maine Ultimate community members and consist of instructional drills to learn the basics, as well as plenty of scrimmaging. This program is open to anyone interested in playing ultimate in Middle or High School.We look forward to seeing you there!

On this registration page you will find basketball clinics and open gym sessions that take place during fall, spring or summer. Check back here frequently to see any upcoming opportunities! We will also include any clinics in our virtual newsletters sent at the beginning of each month. Current Programs:Fall/Early Winter 2025 Youth Open Gym (Sept-Nov) - These open gyms will be run by a core group of volunteers involved with our basketball programming. Sessions will take place at DCS or FMS, and they are open to any player from RSU5 towns in grades K-8. Activities will vary by session, and dependent on the number of players of each age group and their gender. Expect instructional drills, fun games and occasional scrimmages. All players must register below before attending - NO DROP INS ALLOWED.Past Programs:Spring 2025 Youth Open Gym (May-June) - These open gyms will be run by a core group of volunteers involved with our basketball programming. NO DROP INS ALLOWED. April/May 2025 Middle School Girls Clinics - THESE CLINICS WERE CANCELLED DUE TO LOW REGISTRATION NUMBERS. This 3-session clinic series (April 9th, May 7th, May 21st) is open to any Middle School student (6-8th grade) interested in playing in the girls basketball division. Players will practice the basic skills and strategy of the sport in fun drills, games and competitions. Register below to join! NO DROP INS ALLOWED. March 9th, 2025 - Come join us for this fundraiser clinic, where kids will practice the fundamentals of the sport in a fun and interactive environment. All proceeds will be donated to the National CMV Foundation. We will have many coaches involved, including players from the FHS Boys and Girls Basketball teams and coaches from RSU5's Rec Basketball program. The clinic will consist of drills and activities teaching skills and strategy, as well as fun games to bring an element of competition. All players welcome, regardless of skill level or previous experience. At the end of the clinic, each player is welcome to join a pizza party sponsored by Pat's Pizza. During the first week of November, RSU5 CP and surrounding towns will meet to determine a game schedule for this coming winter.  Teams will practice twice per week beginning in November and games will be played on Saturdays beginning in December and running until February break.  Additional pre-season scrimmages and post-season tournaments are available for teams that are interested (additional associated fees not covered by RSU5CP).After the evaluation night, a coach will reach out with details on practice days and times. Learn how to use LightRoom and Photoshop to organize, edit, and adjust your photos.  Participants will complete the class able to make high quality, consistent improvements to their photos.  The instructor will share his knowledge and experience from decades in sports and landscape photography.

Join Sarah Cass for a variety of art classes this fall and winter!  We'll start learning the basics of crochet with our two-part class.  Once you've got a handle on some basic technique, we'll take on a full project in the second class!  One-night classes later in the season focus on smaller projects just when you need them.Beginner Crochet: Learn a couple basic stitches and make a hanging basket. Yarn, crochet hook and directions you can bring home are included. The instructor will go over everything in class. Any level from “never crocheted” to I’ve done this before, I can do this!Intermediate Crochet: We will learn more stitches and patterns. We will discuss how to pick yarn and size hooks for your projects.Holiday Arrangements: Make a wreath or holiday arrangement with fresh balsam branches.  Bring your creativity and any “special” containers or decorations you want. We will have plenty of ribbon, basic nature decorations, wire and containers for each participant. You may bring your own drinks and snacks… holiday music will be playing. Holiday hats are always fun!

Do you have an old band instrument lying around in your attic? Did you play a musical instrument as a kid and have always wanted to pick it back up? If you have an orchestral instrument: flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, violin, viola or cello, double bass, and have prior musical experience (even from decades ago) on your instrument, this is a wonderful way to revisit and rekindle your musical skills. This eight-week course will get you back into the swing of music making. All musicians will receive simple sheet music to play through. Together as an ensemble we will practice, make mistakes, and explore concepts such as tuning, tone, technique, balance, rhythm, and dynamics.

50 years worth of players and Dungeon Masters have made Dungeons & Dragons a cultural phenomenon.  D&D is a game that combines creativity, conflict resolution, problem solving, art and, of course, math to tell stories set in a fictional world of elves, spirits and, of couse, dragons.  Our sessions will include age appropriate material and safety tools to promote the well-being of all players.  No experience points necessary - everyone is welcome at our tables.  Scholarships are available for this program, which meets three Fridays each month.  High school students or parents who wish to get involved as gamemasters should contact Chris at GueretteC@rsu5.org.

This 3-session clinic series (April 9th, May 7th, May 21st) is open to any Middle School student (6-8th grade) interested in playing in the girls basketball division. Players will practice the basic skills and strategy of the sport in fun drills, games and competitions. Register below to join! NO DROP INS ALLOWED. March 9th, 2025 - Come join us for this fundraiser clinic, where kids will practice the fundamentals of the sport in a fun and interactive environment. All proceeds will be donated to the National CMV Foundation. We will have many coaches involved, including players from the FHS Boys and Girls Basketball teams and coaches from RSU5's Rec Basketball program. The clinic will consist of drills and activities teaching skills and strategy, as well as fun games to bring an element of competition. All players welcome, regardless of skill level or previous experience. At the end of the clinic, each player is welcome to join a pizza party sponsored by Pat's Pizza. Yoga and mindfulness can promote resilience and self-regulation in children. Join Sarah Cass for a variety of art classes this fall and winter!  We'll start learning the basics of crochet with our two-part class.  Once you've got a handle on some basic technique, we'll take on a full project in the second class!  One-night classes later in the season focus on smaller projects just when you need them.Beginner Crochet: Learn a couple basic stitches and make a hanging basket. Yarn, crochet hook and directions you can bring home are included. The instructor will go over everything in class. Any level from “never crocheted” to I’ve done this before, I can do this!Intermediate Crochet: We will learn more stitches and patterns. We will discuss how to pick yarn and size hooks for your projects.Holiday Arrangements: Make a wreath or holiday arrangement with fresh balsam branches.  Bring your creativity and any “special” containers or decorations you want. This eight-week course will get you back into the swing of music making. All musicians will receive simple sheet music to play through. Together as an ensemble we will practice, make mistakes, and explore concepts such as tuning, tone, technique, balance, rhythm, and dynamics.

This 3-session clinic series (April 9th, May 7th, May 21st) is open to any Middle School student (6-8th grade) interested in playing in the girls basketball division. Players will practice the basic skills and strategy of the sport in fun drills, games and competitions. Register below to join! NO DROP INS ALLOWED. March 9th, 2025 - Come join us for this fundraiser clinic, where kids will practice the fundamentals of the sport in a fun and interactive environment. All proceeds will be donated to the National CMV Foundation. We will have many coaches involved, including players from the FHS Boys and Girls Basketball teams and coaches from RSU5's Rec Basketball program. The clinic will consist of drills and activities teaching skills and strategy, as well as fun games to bring an element of competition. All players welcome, regardless of skill level or previous experience. At the end of the clinic, each player is welcome to join a pizza party sponsored by Pat's Pizza. Maine offers various opportunities for kids to play basketball at a higher level.  We are offering early registration for those interested in a competitive Travel Basketball league taking place north of Cumberland county. Registration for this program is closed; sign-ups after October 24 will only be taken if there is room on a team. During the first week of November, RSU5 CP and surrounding towns will meet to determine a game schedule for this coming winter.  Teams will practice twice per week beginning in November and games will be played on Saturdays beginning in December and running until February break.  Additional pre-season scrimmages and post-season tournaments are available for teams that are interested (additional associated fees not covered by RSU5CP).After the evaluation night, a coach will reach out with details on practice days and times. The practice schedule has been published online and is visible in the program details below (11/7/25).Parent coaches and assistants are needed in order to run this program.Registration for the evaluation night is FREE (you will be placed on the program waiting list), and league fees of $150 will be applied to your account once you/your child is placed on a team.

Join Sarah Cass for a variety of art classes this fall and winter!  We'll start learning the basics of crochet with our two-part class.  Once you've got a handle on some basic technique, we'll take on a full project in the second class!  One-night classes later in the season focus on smaller projects just when you need them.Beginner Crochet: Learn a couple basic stitches and make a hanging basket. Yarn, crochet hook and directions you can bring home are included. The instructor will go over everything in class. Any level from “never crocheted” to I’ve done this before, I can do this!Intermediate Crochet: We will learn more stitches and patterns. We will discuss how to pick yarn and size hooks for your projects.Holiday Arrangements: Make a wreath or holiday arrangement with fresh balsam branches.  Bring your creativity and any “special” containers or decorations you want. We will have plenty of ribbon, basic nature decorations, wire and containers for each participant. You may bring your own drinks and snacks… holiday music will be playing. Holiday hats are always fun!

Learn how to use LightRoom and Photoshop to organize, edit, and adjust your photos.  Participants will complete the class able to make high quality, consistent improvements to their photos.  The instructor will share his knowledge and experience from decades in sports and landscape photography.

Looking to get your little one involved in the great game of basketball? Little Hoopsters is the perfect place to start! This co-ed weekend program is aimed at introducing the sport through fun drills and instructional games. Our goal is to give children the opportunity to try the sport in a fun, relaxed environment. Players will participate in fun drills as a group, but will be divided by age for instructional games. Parent volunteers are needed to assist with this program.K-1st Graders will play from 8:00-9:00am.1st-2nd Graders will play from 9:00-10:00am.*1st Graders have the option to choose which session they will attend. We suggest signing up for the session that matches the player's current skill as well as wants/needs for the season; the K-1 groups will mostly be focused on learning basic fundamentals, while the 1-2 groups may be doing more advanced drills and given the opportunity for mini games or scrimmages.

Yoga and mindfulness can promote resilience and self-regulation in children. Classes are playful, explorative, responsive, and fun! MSS students may ride the bus to MLS for after-school programs. Participants should bring a water bottle and a snack.

Come join us for some Pickleball action, get some great exercise, and have some fun! All levels and abilities are welcome. If you would like to rent a paddle for the season, you may. Maine offers various opportunities for kids to play basketball at a higher level.  We are offering early registration for those interested in a competitive Travel Basketball league taking place north of Cumberland county. Registration for this program is closed; sign-ups after October 24 will only be taken if there is room on a team. During the first week of November, RSU5 CP and surrounding towns will meet to determine a game schedule for this coming winter.  Teams will practice twice per week beginning in November and games will be played on Saturdays beginning in December and running until February break.  Additional pre-season scrimmages and post-season tournaments are available for teams that are interested (additional associated fees not covered by RSU5CP).After the evaluation night, a coach will reach out with details on practice days and times. The practice schedule has been published online and is visible in the program details below (11/7/25).Parent coaches and assistants are needed in order to run this program.Registration for the evaluation night is FREE (you will be placed on the program waiting list), and league fees of $150 will be applied to your account once you/your child is placed on a team.

Come join us for some Pickleball action, get some great exercise, and have some fun! All levels and abilities are welcome. If you would like to rent a paddle for the season, you may. Paddles will not be provided otherwise. You must register to attend, and you must register for the whole season, no matter how many weeks you play.
